Due to the resent flurry of one word and useless banter in unrelated posts, I will be exercising my Administrative authority and either moving posts to a more relevant thread or deleting them altogether.
What does this means to you? There's a possibility that your post count may shrink.
The reason: PaintballGeeX was not created to be another PBNation site that attracts kids who posts crap on the site.
There is a reason why I don't look at PBNation anymore - it's because of all of the idiots who don't seem to understand what the site was intended for - Paintball.
PaintballGeeX wasn't intended to be just another paintball site, it was designed to be a paintball community, with helpful advise and planned outings. A place for the experienced and in-experienced to come together to help grow the sport. This is a Paintball site where its members live, eat and breath paintball and it's a community of good friends who enjoy playing the game.

The days of the one word, unrelated posts are now gone. We created the trash-talk and the Unrelated to Paintball threads for this kind of garbage - Keep it out of the rest of the threads!

I apologize if this sounds harsh, but I've had 14 PMs in the last 2 days complaining about members posting crap, trying to fluff their post count and it's starting to anger a few people, me included. In case any of you haven't noticed, theirs no special rank or prize for having the most posts. Ranks and points are earned by planned game attendance and actions. Anybody can be a General, if they post 100 posts per day on another site. We don't do that here; If you want to have a high ranking position, get out on the field with us during our scheduled outings, you must earn the rank on the field.

Anyway - starting today, the site will be moderated very heavily and this will no doubt have an effect on some members post counts - If you want to have the highest post count come up with something relevant and post it in it's proper place.

So far I've deleted 25 unrelated, non-relevant posts; 3 of them were mine as well.
I will be monitoring all new posts from this point forward

Thank you Diggler I agree with what you are saying sometimes we all get a little of the beaten path in the threads but this last week has been absurd.

Yours wasn't the only one - 10 members lost a couple of postings (mine included).
I'm not going to go through all of the old posts - I have a life too. The policing of posts will now be with all new ones.

If you go back through all of the posts - we all were pretty bad - I'm just as guilty of it too.
But as stated earlier, I'm not going to go back through all of the old stuff. If I did, we'd probably loose half of all of the posts on the site - pretty sad.

Just to let everyone know - If you have a friend trying to gain access to this site, please have them use an email address, other than gmail.
I'm still battling with spammers and 90% of them are now using gmail accounts. I hate banning gmail, but until I can squash these idiots once and for all, I'm going to ban this email address,
If all they have is gmail, please let me know what their email address is and I'll manually enter them in.
Sorry for the hassles, but because of the heavy modding on the site already, and the spammers trying (and failing) to gain access - it's becoming a huge time consuming battle.

Hopefully this will be a temporary thing and I'll lift the ban on gmail accounts - this should not affect any existing users who are already on the site, just new applicants

It looks like the Temporary ban of Gmail accounts had a much larger effect than I had anticipated. We went from 5 attacks per day to less than 1 every three days.
But as luck would have it, these idiots are also very resourceful; they have turned to using Yahoo accounts which are also free. For now I'm instituting a temporary ban on all new Yahoo email accounts (~30 days) to see what happens. Both of these free accounts will become available on this site again soon - I just want to make sure that only legitimate people are using them to actually join the forum and not peddle their porn and other crap.

If you know of somebody trying to join the site with either a Gmail or Yahoo account - send me their info and I'll set them up manually.

Today I unblocked the gmail and yahoo accounts, so that people wanting to join with email accounts from those services could now join. Unfortunately, it only took 10 minutes before I had to block gmail again - got hit again with dumb-ass spammers.
Gmail accounts will now be blocked indefinitely. If you know someone trying to join using a gmail account, please let me know and I will manually enter their information for them.

For now, yahoo email is active, at least until the next idiot tries to spam us using yahoo.
