Dye NT air efficiency

Postby LiQiuD on Wed Mar 03, 2010 5:56 pm

Has anyone played with the Dye NT yet? With the amount of paint i like to sling when I play (save your comments chronos), Air efficiency is critical to me. Anyone with some experience on how many balls you can throw with a normal tank?

Awesome.

I think it might be time to sell my DMs and pick up an NT.

That would be cool then in 1 year you will be able to sell it for new in the box since it probably wont see a field by then

I've heard a lot of good feedback about the Dye NT and I believe Bender also bought one last month. The only down side that I've heard so far is the price.
Aside from all the obvious jokes that you're probably going to get in this post; you may want to go out and use your Oil-Slick DM before you make that jump - it's a very nice marker and Kar really took unbelievable care of it.
Since you run your tank on your back, I'd buy a bigger tank (88 or 110) and then go nuts for a few games. Once you get back into the swing of things, re-evaluate your marker situation.
I'll tell you, if I had the extra cash I'd buy the Oil-Slick from you (what an awesome marker). I'd sell the blue DM through eBay or take it to Check-It Paintball in Chantilly - that one was used pretty hard and may have a few ($$$) issues down the road.

Just my 2 cents

Gotta give credit where its due - you took incredible care of this marker. You don't see that with too many previously owned markers. This one could be put back in the box and passed off as new.

On a different note for those looking at the NT - Dye just posted the Black and Gold edition for a mere $1699.95

I've used the oil slick with the 110 a few times, and it's always sucking the tank dry about when i run out of paint. I'd rather get more use out of that 110 than i'm getting now.

What i'll probably do is sell the blue, and keep the oil slick as my backup.

I used a DM10 at skirmish when i played with my dad and brother in Jan, and it was pretty sweet.

That's probably the best idea - I'd hold onto the Oil-Slick for a while.

I haven't heard much of anything about the DM10 - it's pretty much been eclipsed by the NT.

I'll tell one thing though, I'm extremely happy with my DM9. The air efficiency is perfect and I always run out of paint before the air is gone.

With my DM7, I always run out of air just as I'm running out of paint. I figure, so long as the endurance of both are equal, or as long as the air outlasts the paint, who cares what the efficiency is? If your gun and tank setup gets you playing for the full length of the match then your 'efficiency' is 100% as far as I'm concerned. :)

Or during the Cherry Blossom Festival on the Mall... not sure if I could recommend it, Park Service is quite touchy with paintballs.
